August heralds the arrival of new stocks of Tamata’s Japanese maples from New Zealand,arriving in time to showcase the spectacular range of autumn colours for whichthese trees are renowned.
Tamata’sreceival & distribution yard located in Rugby has been extended toaccommodate the additional stock which comprises many of our customersfavourites such as Garnet and Skeeters Broom along with some lesser knowncultivars including Emerald Lace and Shidava Gold, all grown to a maturespecification.
While thename Tamata has to date been synonymous with quality Japanese maples grown to amature specification, Tamata has this year, for the first time, expanded itsproduct offering to UK customers by including a selection of Japanese maples grown to a semi-mature specification. These trees display the characteristicsand form of their more mature counterparts, having sufficient size and maturityto add substance and presence to a garden design but for significantly lessoutlay. The selection available within this first consignment comprises over adozen varieties including lesser known cultivars such as Koto ito komachi(roughly translates to “beautiful little girl”) and Crimson Princess, adelicate weeping form which carries a deep red colour throughout the entiregrowing season before turning a vivid scarlet in autumn.
A selectionof mature and semi-mature Tamata maples will be on display at various tradeexhibitions over this coming autumn, the first being the Four Oaks Trade Showto be held at Cheshire over the 2nd and 3rd September.Visit Patrick at our exhibition stand E61.
