Tamata Acers in award winning garden at Ellerslie International Show 2014

The Ellerslie International Flower Show 2014 took place in Christchurch in late February with specimen Acers grown by Tamata featuring in the Show Garden designed by Bayley LuuTomes. The garden was built in support of Arthritis New Zealand, aiming to highlight the issues faced by children with Arthritis.
The judging panel, led by Andy Sturgeon, awarded the garden a Silver. The garden also won a Gold for its lighting and also took out the Supreme Award for Lighting.
Tamata provided two Crimson Queen and two Tamukeyama Acers for the garden. The trees were positioned at the front of the garden. Lighting was set under the Crimson Queen trees illustrating how the beauty of these Japanese Maples can be accentuated by ambient lighting - well Andy Sturgeon thought so!
It has been a whirlwind year for Bayley LuuTomes. The winner of the Student of the Year Award at the 2013 Ellerslie Show, in the past year he has also designed gardens at the RHS Hampton Court Show in the U.K. and the Gardening World Cup in Japan.

Both the Crimson Queen and Tamukeyama trees used in the Award winning garden are available for purchase in New Zealand.
